Save Energy, Save Money, Save the Planet

PBS's NOW asks the question 'Could a new effort to fight global warming also save money and create jobs?'

Energy efficiency is by far the most cost effective way to reduce your consumption. Saving energy saves more than just money.

The Cambridge Energy Alliance has an innovate program where people can upgrade their energy efficiency with loans. The loans are then paid for by the savings on utility bills. This results in no additional out-of-pocket costs today and saving when the utility costs go up and even more savings when the loan is repaid.

For a place like Cambridge where most of the buildings and homes are 50+ years old, this is a great idea to inspire upgrades.
