Melink Corporation has a Plug-N-Play Photovoltaic system. It is solar panels with an integrated inverted and a standard home plug. Roll it out, point it toward the sun, iplug it into your home. Bamb! You have solar panels.
The system is called "Ingrid" ("In-Grid") and costs less than $5000.
Part of the big expense of PV is the installation. This system avoids those costs but is very limited in size. It also may not qualify for the same incentives as a mounted system. However, if you are in an apartment or know you are going to move soon, this might be something worth looking into.
